Generators, Expendables, Shotmaker Insert car, Process trailer, Cranes and Dollies. Our staff of professionals work in the industry, so we understand every aspect of your production's needs and schedules.

Tax Incentives for filming in Louisiana:

Investor Tax Credit
For state-certified productions approved by the Govenor's Office of Film & Television Development:
If the total base investment is greater than $300,000, each investor shall be allowed a tax credit of 25% of the base investment made in the state of Louisiana.
 

EMPLOYMENT / LABOR TAX CREDIT 

To the extent that base investment is spent on payroll for Louisiana residents in conncetion with a state certified production, each investor shall be allowed an additional ten percent of such payroll.

it should be noted that if the payroll of any one person exceeds one-million dollars, this additional credit shall exclude any salary for that person.

 The Louisiana Motion Picture Incentive Program was created in order to acheive three basic goals:

  • To encourage film and video production in Louisiana
  • To advocate the hiring of Louisiana technical crew and talent
  • To support and encourage the use of Louisiana equipment and services related to film and video production

We have collected a number of potential locations and posted them here on our website. These properties represent a whole range of possible locations to include our beautiful parks and rivers, homes that are pre-approved for filming, downtown buildings, and dilapidated warehouses. We offer free filming in our city owned buildings with just a few exclusions.

Johnny T. Martin

President/ CEO Louisiana Grip And Lighting

Began his career in the movie industry in 1986 at MGM studios as a Grip.  He worked his way up to keying his first feature with a budget of 1.2 million dollars at 19 years of age.  By the age of 23, Johnny owned a 10 ton Grip truck with equipment, and worked various Features, Television, Commercials and Music Videos as a "Key Grip", and "Vendor".  While working as a Key Grip on the movie "Solsctice" filmed in New Orleans in 2005, he recognized the need for a local Grip and Lighting house.  Meanwhile, during filming "The last Lullaby" filmed in Shreveport 2006, he went back to Los Angeles to work on the television series Boston legal and talked his family into opening the business in Shreveport and moving.  One month later received a phone call from a Charles Rapp to Key "The Pardon" With the backing of two magor players in Hollywood Leonetti Company and Shotmaker has made it possible for Louisiana grip and lighting to be a success.
